The written test for the recruitment of 45,000 assistant teachers in government primary schools is going to start from April 1. The five-step test will end on April 26. The information came from a letter sent by the Department of Primary Education (DPE). The letter has been sent to the heads of the institutions selected as centers for teacher recruitment examinations. The letter, sent last Thursday (March 10), was signed by DPE Additional Director General (Additional Secretary) Sohail Ahmed.

It has been informed in the letter that the written test of Assistant Teacher Recruitment-2020 in Government Primary Schools will be held on 01, 06, 15, 22 and 26 April in different centers of Dhaka metropolis. The test will be held on the scheduled date at 10 am or 3 pm.

The letter states that your organization has been selected to take the written test on the scheduled date and time. You are requested to inform the department by email by March 15 how many people can be tested in which room of your organization.

Meanwhile, today (Saturday), according to the Department of Primary Education, the distribution of seats based on the examination center and the specific time will be announced later. Those who pass the written test will be called for the oral test.

Earlier on Thursday, the Minister of State for Primary and Mass Education in the meeting room of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. In a meeting held under the chairmanship of Zakir Hossain, it was decided to take the examination for the appointment of primary assistant teachers in April. The meeting was informed that the candidates who have passed the examination in April will be recruited by the month of July.

It was further informed in the meeting that the Department of Primary Education has issued a notification on 20 October 2020 for the recruitment of 32,057 vacant posts of Assistant Teachers. But due to the Corona epidemic, it was not possible to take the test. More than 10,000 posts of assistant teachers have already fallen vacant due to retirement. This has led to shortage of teachers in schools. To solve this problem, the ministry has decided to appoint about 45,000 assistant teachers by combining the vacancies in the previous notification and the vacancies after the notification.
